Alan Partridge was a character created by Steve Coogan on the early 90s spoof radio show "On The Hour."

In Dec. 1992, the character got his own radio show, "Knowing Me, Knowing You ... With Alan Partridge," a spoof of radio talk shows.

"Knowing Me, Knowing You" moved to television in 1994 for six episodes and a Christmas special (Knowing Me, Knowing Yule).

In 1997, Alan Partridge returned to the BBC with "I'm Alan Partridge," another 6-episode series. The second series aired in 2002.
